Are you an engineer interested in something a little less conventional? Waters Edge Aquatic Design is seeking a site civil engineer to assist with the design of site development involving commercial aquatic centers, water parks, and similar recreational and park developments.

Waters Edge Aquatic Design is a 25-year multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works across the United States on commercial water recreation projects and aquatic centers, which routinely require site development planning and design.

Responsibilities

Base responsibilities include typical tasks required of site development engineering, including:

  • Site development plans, including layout, grading, drainage, utilities, profiles, and earthwork.
  • Technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Permitting applications and submissions, including planning and zoning, building permits, and land disturbance.
  • Engineering reports, studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater analyses.
  • Parking, paving, plaza development and design.

Additionally, training will be provided for:

  • Designing aquatic centers and water recreational amenities with a human-centered focus
  • Creating inclusive and accessible designs (universal design)
  • Designing for safety and comfort
  • Designing for flexibility and adaptability, creating spaces that can transform for different activities and events
  • Performing assessments of existing aquatics and recreational facilities
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License, or the ability to obtain one in the near future
  • Candidates should have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications, including hydrology modeling programs, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
  • Experience and interest in coordinating with team members, clients, and performing quality control reviews
  • Ability to navigate and assemble plan drawing sets and other construction documents
  • Design experience that includes utilities, site layout, drainage, due diligence, and permitting
