Water’s Edge is the proud winner of a 2017 Dream Design Award from Aquatics International for the Long Branch Lagoon Waterpark in Dodge City, KS. The award recognizes Long Branch Lagoon as an internationally top designed leisure pool/family aquatic center. Acknowledging the story the park tells via a unique reflection of city history and culture through themed aquatic elements, design and architecture. But as Rebecca Robledo writes best, “it isn’t just the story behind a design that makes it special. The design is the story– it should have a main concept, which all details and choices serve to develop. It should unfold and draw you through.” “And, like a good story, a good design looks as if it just happened on its own, organically. Great storytellers make it look easy — and so do great designers.”
Waters Edge Aquatic Design team and the City of Dodge City set out to tell the story of the Old West, and are honored to share this Dream Design Award.
