The City of Lansing, Kansas, celebrated the grand opening of Lansing Aquatic Center during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 14. This brand-new outdoor water park came to fruition thanks to a voter-approved sales tax increase in 2022, and construction of the $7 million project began in 2024. Before its completion in 2025, Lansing did not have a public outdoor swimming pool.

With a water surface area of 8,840 square feet, Lansing Aquatic Center offers ample space and amenities for patrons to enjoy during the hot summer months. Features include a 6-lane, 25-meter lap pool, a diving board, a basketball goal and a retractable water volleyball net, a climbing wall, a zero-depth-entry shallow pool with a family slide, a compact lazy river, two full-size water slides, and a separated splash pad.

The large, state-of-the-art bath house contains the pump room, filtration systems, lifeguard and staff space, a ticketing booth and reception area, concessions, family changing rooms, restrooms, and a shower area. Complemented by gorgeous landscaping and modern shading and seating solutions, patrons have plenty of options to stay cool, whether they're splashing around in the water or lounging on the deck.
