The City of Lansing Kansas celebrated the grand opening of Lansing Aquatic Center during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 14. This brand-new outdoor water park came to fruition thanks to a voter approved sales tax increase in 2022, and construction of the $7 million project began in 2024. Prior to its completion in 2025, Lansing did not have a public outdoor swimming pool.

With a water surface area of 8,840 square feet, Lansing Aquatic Center offers ample space and amenities for patrons to enjoy during the hot summer months. Features include a 6-lane 25-meter lap lane pool, a diving board, a basketball goal and retractable water volleyball net, a climbing wall, a zero-depth entry shallow pool with a family slide, a compact lazy river, two full-size water slides, and a separated splash pad. The large, state-of-the-art bath house contains the pump room, filtration systems, lifeguard and staff space, a ticketing booth and reception area, concessions, family changing rooms, restrooms, and a shower area. Complimented with gorgeous landscaping along with modern shading and seating solutions, patrons have plenty of options to stay cool whether they're splashing around in the water or lounging on the deck.
