Tony Aguirre Community Center’s new outdoor pool earned the 2025 Excellence in Concrete Award in the swimming pool category. Each year, Concrete Promotional Group, Inc. hosts the Excellence in Concrete Awards to recognize outstanding projects in concrete construction. This year’s event was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Fiorella’s Event Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Trey Byrne and Jeff Bartley joined members of the project team at the event to accept this award.

Waters Edge Aquatic Design is proud to be part of the award-winning team, including Dondlinger Construction, Geiger Ready-Mix, SFS Architecture, and Olsson, that brought the new outdoor pool at Tony Aguirre Community Center to life. Dondlinger’s construction crew worked on an accelerated schedule, breaking ground in late January and delivering a finished product for a public grand opening on Monday, July 7, 2025, without sacrificing craftsmanship or quality. The final result demonstrates an innovative approach to fitting modern outdoor pool features into a compact space.
